Dusting Off the Ol Blog

Don’t be fooled.
This is a hardened criminal!

It’s been a little while since my (or anyone’s) last post, but there have been things going on, for everyone. The holiday season is always a busy time for everyone, and as a store owner, I noticed that it was just as, if not more so for gamers. In my own realm, we moved to a new place just before Thanksgiving, so it’s been a roller coaster ride for us. We’re all getting back in the rhythm of things though, slowly but surely.

There will be plenty enough to go round for a while. The gaming must go on! I’m driving this blog to be more open-ended with the content and less 40k specific. I’m very much hoping to see a little more of everything. I encourage anyone who has any articles or ideas for the same to write to us and let us know! I also want to give a special shout out to Ambergeddon for her board game reviews! At home – We’ve nearly gotten our studio space set up (most of it was still in boxes), and I’m ready to get painting on my next big Warhammer 40K project. I had posted previously that I was excited about Tyranids, but they did in fact let me down by excluding the rumor about being able to run & assault in the same turn. Disappointment aside, I had already made the decision to sell off the bulk of my bugs prior to the codex release. Instead, I will be focusing my efforts on an army that I’ve owned for nearly 4 years now, and never painted. More on that later!

I’m keeping the Genestealers though. A girl can hope.

Studio

The new workstation – for two!

There are many things that have come up in the past few months that we need to review! My Little Pony CCG is currently HUGE at our LGS – Giga-Bites Cafe, MLP Monopoly is a big hit at our home, Star Trek battles, Sails and Wings of Glory are both somewhat new as well. I had a little experience with D&D Next over the break that re-kindled my RPG bug, some of that may come to light as well as I scratch at that itch.

The War Dolls are still here, and we have plenty to say!

  1. Looks like a mighty fine work space. I’m in the process of upgrading mine as well. In the works – shelving, new brushes, and hopefully a large daylight spectrum under-hung light.

I’m looking forward to giving Dark Age a try in this weekend’s tourney, thanks to Jamie Wolff for loaning me the army to play. I’ll write something about my thoughts on the game and tourney if you like.

    • Thanks!! It has been a challenge to try and fit that, my sewing table, tubs of fabric, tons of canvases and still have enough space for easels and far too much paint, pencils, pens and whatever else she can art with. 🙂

  2. Thanks for the shout out! I’m hoping to get on a regular review schedule again. It’s been crazy with moving, painting, and all that junk on top of the holidays…I haven’t had time to plan much else.
